چکیده
Abstract Although saponin originated from plants has been used to control methanogenesis performed by archaea methanogens in the rumen, its effect inconsistent. The objective of this study was evaluate dietary on enteric methane emission and nutrient digestibility ruminants across various studies employing a meta-analysis method. A database developed integrating data 17 that 11 articles. Different ruminant species, i.e., both small large were included database. Data related vitro excluded. Papers should be based vivo only simultaneously reported emission. Treatments divided into (no saponin), low (saponin level less than 0.5% DM) high above DM). treatments considered as fixed effects whereas random statistical mixed model methodology. Results showed decreased compared (P<0.05), true for levels saponin. Interestingly, increased dry matter digestibility, organic neutral detergent fiber acid comparison (P<0.05). However, at administration reduced these In conclusion, is effective mitigate enhances provided use not exceed DM.

Effects of Linseed Lipid on Ruminal Fatty Acid Metabolism, Nutrient Digestibility, Milk Fatty Acid Composition, and Methane Emission in Ruminants
Linseed lipid in the dietary composition is a major factor influencing the fatty acid composition of milk from ruminants, because fatty acids which reach the duodenum are, at least in part, of dietary origin as well as the result of ruminal microbial biohydrogenation of dietary lipids. In this review, the effect of linseed lipid on ruminal fatty acid metabolism, nutrient digestibility, microbia...

A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of chitosan on enteric methane (CH4) and total tract nutrient digestibility of beef heifers consuming either a high-concentrate (HC; 85% concentrate) or a low-concentrate (LC; 36% concentrate) diet. Heifers were provided their respective diets ad libitum along with one of three dietary inclusion rates of chitosan: 1) CTRL=0.0% of chitosan in the die...

Can Plant Saponins Lower Methane Emissions Without Hampering The Nutrient Digestibility of Ruminants?
Plant saponins have been used as additives to mitigate methane emissions originated from enteric fermentation of ruminant animals. Most of the studies however were based on in vitro techniques, and only limited studies were directly conducted on the animals. Inconsistencies of saponin effects on methane emissions have been previously observed, which might be related to their levels in rations. ...

This study examined the effect of supplementing exogenous cellulase on nutrient and energy utilization. Twelve desexed Boer crossbred goats were used in a replicated 3×3 Latin square design with 23-d periods. Dietary treatments were basal diet (control, no cellulase), basal diet plus 2 g unitary cellulase/kg of total mixed ration dry matter (DM), and basal diet plus 2 g compound cellulase/kg of...
